LAHORE: Another trailer allegedly ran over two young bikers, who succumbed to their injuries on the spot, in the Yakki Gate area here on Friday.

Earlier, a trailer had crushed to death three members of a family, including a 15-year-old boy, at Garhi Shahu early on Thursday.

Sharing the details of the latest incident, a police official said that two youngsters – Hassan (17) and his friend Hamza (19) – were going to a market on a motorcycle, when it was run over by a speeding trailer.

Resultantly, he said, both bikers died on the spot, while the trailer driver fled the scene, abandoning the heavy vehicle on the road.

On being informed of the incident, Rescue 1122 and police teams reached the spot and shifted the bodies to the city morgue for autopsy.

The police seized the trailer and lodged a case against the fleeing driver.

Police are using the data from the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) cameras to trace and arrest the driver.
