TAXILA: Police arrested four suspects, including the alleged ringleader, in Jand town of Attock for abducting a woman at gunpoint and seriously injuring her brother after shooting him over resistance after a marriage proposal was reportedly rejected, police said on Friday.

According to police, the incident occurred in Tirap village where a group of armed men allegedly forced their way into the house of Syed Ahsan Ali Shah, threatened his family at gunpoint and abducted his sister.

During the incident, the main suspect opened fire, leaving one person seriously injured. Police said the incident stemmed from the family’s refusal to accept a marriage proposal.

Following a complaint by the victim, Injra police registered a case and launched an investigation to trace the abducted woman and arrest those involved. Using technological assistance and investigative methods, police subsequently arrested the main suspect along with three alleged accomplices. The abducted woman was recovered safely, police said.
