ISLAMABAD: Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka has granted interim bail until October 20 to a co-accused in the case relating to Laiba Ejaz’s suicide following an alleged fraud.

The court granted bail against surety bonds of Rs20,000 and issued notices to the parties, directing them to present their arguments at the next hearing.

During the proceedings, the accused appeared before the court along with his counsel, who argued that his client was innocent and had been deliberately implicated in the case.

After hearing the initial arguments, the court granted interim relief to the accused and sought responses from the relevant parties before proceeding further with the bail application.

Meanwhile, another accused in the case is in police custody on physical remand.

A case has been registered against the accused at Ramna police station in connection with the alleged fraud and the circumstances surrounding Laiba Ejaz’s suicide.

The matter will be taken up again on October 20, when the court is expected to hear further arguments on the bail application.
