ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Electric Supply Company (Iesco) has announced its Annual System Maintenance Programme 2026-27 to ensure timely completion of essential maintenance work on power transformers installed at more than 130 (132kv) grid stations, over 1,295 (11kv) feeders, transmission lines and other electrical installations across the region.
The programme will remain in effect from October 15 to February 8, 2027.
Temporary power shutdowns will be carried out on relevant feeders to facilitate the necessary maintenance work.
Iesco Chief Executive Officer Engr Chaudhry Khalid Mehmood has directed the concerned formations to ensure that consumers are informed in advance about scheduled shutdowns.
The CEO further directed field formations to strictly monitor the duration of power shutdowns and ensure that staff fully comply with all prescribed safety procedures and standard operating procedures (SOPs) during maintenance activities.
Field officers have also been instructed to supervise their staff during the work and ensure their presence at the work sites.
“The annual system maintenance programme will help strengthen Iesco’s distribution system and address existing technical deficiencies. These improvements are expected to enhance the reliability of electricity supply, particularly during peak hours, while helping to reduce system faults and tripping incidents,” the spokesperson said.
