MIRPURKHAS: A fire that broke out in a sealed petrol pump left seven people, three of them firefighters, injured at Tando Adam Naka on Tuesday.

The petrol pump was among the several illegally established facilities sealed by the district administration about two months ago.

According to some residents of the neighbourhood, a blast was heard moments before the fuel station caught fire. There were many people present next to the petrol pump at that time and four of them suffered burn injuries, they said.

Firefighters arrived and started the work to contain the blaze. Three of them also suffered burn injuries during the process. It took the firefighters about four hours to extinguish the blaze.

All the seven victims were taken to the Mirpurkhas District Headquarters Hospital, where they were admitted.
