LARKANA: A woman was seriously injured when a dispute between two groups over alleged land ownership escalated into firing in village Nawab Khan Luhar, within the jurisdiction of the Baqapur police station on the outskirts of the city, on Tuesday. Both parties belong to the Luhar community.

The injured woman was identified as Lal Zadi, wife of Sohrab Luhar, who was hit by a bullet. Her relatives brought her on a cot to SSP Chowk and blocked the road in protest, bringing traffic to a standstill. The protesters also chanted slogans against the incident.

Speaking to journalists, the victim’s relatives, including Mir Muhammad Luhar, alleged that the Baqapur police had been informed but were unwilling to act against influential people.
