LARKANA: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Sindh’s general secretary Moulana Rashid Mahmood Soomro has said that all political, religious and social parties must strive together for the unity, survival and security of Sindh.

He said categorically that no compromise would be made on the province’s unity, adding that a joint struggle to protect Sindh’s resources, rights and national identity was a must.

“Today, on one hand, there is talk of dividing Sindh while on the other conspiracies are being hatched to fuel sectarianism. The JUI-F is playing its full role in foiling these designs,” he said. He was addressing an important meeting of Sukkur Division office-bearers of the party at Jamia Islamia here on Saturday, held by the JUI-F Sindh as part of preparations for the International Peace Conference and its public outreach campaign.

Presiding over the meeting, JUI-F Sindh emir Moulana Abdul Qayyum Halejvi said that protecting the Haramain Sharifain was part of the Muslims’ faith. Raising a voice at all forums for the sanctity, safety and protection of the holy sites was urgently needed, he said.
