KARACHI: Alleged drug baroness Anmol alias Pinky has filed another application in court seeking acquittal in a drug case registered in 2018.

The accused has already been acquitted by a sessions court in three other older cases registered at the Gizri police station in 2020, 2021 and 2022 for lack of evidence. Recently, she also filed an acquittal plea in another drug case registered at the same police station in 2021.

This time again, she filed an application under Section 265-K of the Code of Criminal Procedure through her counsel before the Additional District and sessions judge (South), seeking acquittal in an old case registered at the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) police station, in which she had earlier been declared a proclaimed absconder.

After a preliminary hearing, the judge issued notices to the prosecution and fixed Oct 14 for the next hearing.

During the hearing, the accused appeared through a video link. Statements of two prosecution witnesses, including investigating officer Muhammad Mansoor, were also recorded before the court. Both witnesses identified her as the accused.

The CTD submitted a supplementary charge sheet in July, claiming that three suspects, including Anmol’s brother Nasir, were arrested in Akhtar Colony in 2018 and a large quantity of hashish and cocaine was allegedly recovered from them. Nasir was later acquitted by a court.

The charge sheet stated that during interrogation, the suspects claimed they worked for “Madam Pinky” and took instructions from her to supply drugs “all over Karachi”.

A gram of the illicit substances cost between Rs12,000 and Rs15,000, with the rate allegedly fixed by Pinky, the charge sheet stated.

The investigating officer said that, based on this information, Anmol was interrogated in the women’s jail after her formal arrest in the case. According to the charge sheet, she confessed to being the ringleader of the drug network.

The charge sheet added that Nasir told the police that Anmol was his real sister, while the rest of the family had left for Lahore.

Anmol was arrested in May 2026 in connection with two cases registered at the Garden police station involving the alleged possession of drugs and an unlicensed weapon. She had already been booked or declared a proclaimed offender in several other criminal cases before her arrest.
