Bridegroom arrested in Karak over festive firing

LAKKI MARWAT: A bridegroom was arrested for celebratory firing in Karak district on Wednesday, police said.

An official said that the arrest was made when police learned that some people in a wedding procession were engaged in festive firing in the limits of Yaqoob Khan Shaheed police station.

He said that a police party led by SHO Hakim Khan reached the venue and arrested the bridegroom identified as Afnan, a resident of Sarki Lawaghar and also impounded his vehicle.

The arrested person was taken to the police station and a case was registered against him under the relevant sections of law.

Meanwhile, a man was killed over a blood feud in Naqeebabad area of Serai Naurang town in Lakki Marwat district, police said.

Reporting the incident to the police, the slain man’s wife, Barkatullah, alleged that Naseebullah killed her husband after he stepped outside his house in response to a knock at the door.

The suspect fled the scene after committing the murder. The body was taken to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital for postmortem.
