Aqeel, Jalil to play in Delhi

Published July 28, 2006

KARACHI, July 27: Davis Cuppers Aqeel Khan and Jalil Khan are due to fly to Delhi in the first week of next month to feature in ITF Satellite which runs in the Indian capital from Aug 8 to Sept 4.

“The Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) is making arrangements for their visas following an invitation from across the border,” Aqeel said on Thursday.

The trip will benefit the two players immensely and help them prepare for tough Asia-Oceania Group one Davis Cup play-off against China in Beijing from Sept 22 to 24.

Pakistan had lost to Taipei and India in the previous two ties and only a victory can help them retain their place in Group one. In case of reversal, Pakistan will be relegated to Group two.
