NAWABSHAH: Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hasan Lanjar has said that a new campus of Peoples University of Medical and Health Sciences (PUMHS) Shaheed Benazirabad alongside a state-of-the-art tertiary care hospital will soon be established in Moro.

Speaking to Dawn at Lanjar House on Friday at an event to mark the first death anniversary of his mother, the minister said that President Asif Ali Zardari had formally announced the project to cater to the growing healthcare and educational demands of the region.

“Approximately eight acres of land have already been acquired for the new campus in Moro,” he said.

Mr Lanjar highlighted that Naushahro Feroze district, particularly Moro and its adjoining towns, urgently required upgraded medical infrastructure.

He stated that the project aligns with the development vision of the Pakistan Peoples Party and President Zardari, and will provide substantial relief and facility to thousands of local residents.

The minister directed Naushahro Feroze Deputy Commissioner Arslan Saleem to expedite all administrative processes and focus on the project’s timely execution.

He also instructed the PUMHS vice chancellor, Prof Dr Ali Akbar Siyal, to provide full technical input, academic guidance, and institutional assistance for the project.
