Man sets wife ablaze in Gojra

TOBA TEK SINGH: A man set his wife ablaze over a domestic dispute in Gojra on Saturday.

Gojra City police said Nisar Ahmad and his wife, Tasleem Akhtar, quarrelled over a family matter and Nisar sprinkled her with petrol before setting her on fire.

Tasleem received critical burns all over her body. She was rushed to Gojra Tehsil Headquarters Hospital where doctors referred her to Faisalabad’s Allied Hospital. Police have arrested the suspect.

ACCIDENT: Three persons died and another sustained serious injuries in a road accident in Khanewal.

According to Rescue 1122, all three deceased as well as the injured were on the same motorcycle travelling on the National Highway near Niazi Chowk when a speeding bus hit their bike. As a result, three of them died on impact while the fourth man was critically injured.

The deceased were identified as Muhammad Yousaf (34) and Mudassar Hussain (30) of Rajanpur and Ilyas Akram (35) of Dera Ghazi Khan. The wounded, identified as Kamran Majeed (35) of Muzaffargarh, was shifted to Khanewal DHQ Hospital.
