THATTA, July 27: The ambassador of Uzbekistan in Pakistan, Mr Oypek Arif Usman, has said that his country has initiated availing skill and expertise of Pakistan in the agriculture sector.

The ambassador was talking to reporters at the Dewan Sugar Mills in Budho Talpur after a briefing by Kausar Hamid, chief operational officer of the mill, on Thursday.

The deputy ambassador of Uzbekistan, Elder Shafiqullah, federal cane commissioner Inayatullah Khan and Sindh cane commissioner Haji Khan Keerio were present on the occasion.

Paying gratitude to President Gen Pervez Musharraf, the Pakistan Sugar Mills Association and Dewan Mohammad Yousuf, managing director of the Dewan Group of Industries, Mr Oypek said that Pakistan had achieved unparallel success in the fields of agriculture and agro-based industry.

He said that a detailed technical study had revealed that a composed atmosphere and stable required temperature for sugarcane in some areas of his country invited official attention to grow sugarcane and install relevant industry there.
