Man shot dead after withdrawing Rs700,000 in North Karachi

KARACHI: A man was shot dead after he withdrew Rs700,000 from a bank branch in North Karachi on Friday.

Police said Sabih Siddiqi was hit by a bullet inside his car in Sector D-11. He himself drove to a nearby hospital where he died during treatment, they added.

The police recovered a 9mm pistol, 17 rounds and Rs700,000 cash from the car.

Sir Syed SHO Irfan Asif said the police were investigating the case to ascertain the exact circumstances.

During the initial probe, it transpired that he had sustained a single bullet wound to the neck.

Officials said it was not clear whether he was shot from outside or inside the car.

The crime scene unit was called to collect evidence.
