BADIN: Sindh High Court Chief Justice (CJ) Zafar Ahmed Rajput on Friday inaugurated a women’s waiting area and a meeting hall for parents and children at the District and Sessions Court during his one-day visit to Badin.

District and Sessions Judge (Badin) Abdul Quddoos Memon briefed the chief justice on development works and facilities at the court complex, including the water filtration and solar power systems and the upgraded waiting area.

Addressing a ceremony hosted by the District Bar Association, CJ Rajput announced the establishment of e-libraries at the bar associations in Badin, Matli and Golarchi.

He also announced a six-kilowatt solar power system and two air-conditioners for the Badin bar, besides 18 water dispensers for courts across the district.

Responding to lawyers’ demands, the chief justice said construction of a new bar building would commence soon after completion of the required legal and administrative formalities.

He expressed concern over the use of substandard material in the existing bar building and stressed that quality standards must be strictly maintained in public construction projects.

CJ Rajput said this was his sixth visit to Badin in a year and that he had been regularly reviewing issues concerning the district judiciary and the bar.

He said significant development work had been undertaken in courts across Sindh over the past year to modernise the judicial system and make it more accessible and people-friendly.

He said young lawyers were expected to play an important role in the legal profession and would be provided with necessary facilities. He urged them to rely on thorough preparation, hard work and legal expertise during court proceedings and to make effective use of modern technology and digital resources to enhance their professional skills.

The chief justice also administered the oath to the newly elected office-bearers of the District Bar Association, Badin.

The ceremony was attended by the SHC registrar, judges of the high court, District and Sessions Judge Memon, bar office-bearers, senior lawyers and other dignitaries.
