DSP suspended in Kot Lakhpat jail clash

LAHORE: The Punjab home department has suspended deputy superintendent (Executive) Kamran Maqbool from service on charges of inefficiency and negligence.

The deputy superintendent has been suspended following an initial probe report on the incident of a clash among inmates at the Kot Lakhpat jail that had left one killed and several others injured.

The home secretary had constituted an inquiry committee comprising three DIGs to probe the incident of clash among inmates.

IG Prisons Mian Salik Jalal had earlier suspended six assistant superintendents.
