RAWALPINDI: Two shopkeepers were booked by the police for allegedly resisting the dengue inspection team and threatening its members in the Morgah area on Thursday.

Syed Nayyar Abbas, a resident of Al-Noor Colony Khanna Pul, lodged an FIR with the Morgah police against the accused shopkeepers. The incident occurred when a dengue team comprising Ahsan Mahmood and Owais Ali, sanitary patrol workers, visited a confectionery shop during a routine inspection.

During the visit, one of the accused allegedly refused to allow the team to conduct the inspection and started abusing the officials, telling them to leave and saying that he would not allow any dengue-related checking.

Meanwhile, another person arrived and allegedly used abusive language against the dengue team members, pushed them and threatened them.

The accused allegedly caught hold of the officials by their collars, pushed them out of the premises and obstructed them from performing their official duties, according to the FIR.

The complainant alleged that by abusing, pushing and threatening the government officials and preventing them from performing their assigned dengue duties, the accused interfered with official work.

On the complaint of the Executive District Officer Health, Rawalpindi, an FIR was registered under Sections 506, 353 and 186 of the PPC against the accused, and an investigation was launched.
