Sanitation worker dies

KARACHI: A young sanitation worker died of inhaling toxic gases while cleaning a drain in Nusrat Bhutto Colony on Wednesday, officials said.

Shahrah-i-Noor Jehan police said that the victim, Billo Shamoon, 28, was cleaning the drain near Nasir Nagar when he fell unconscious. He was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

Meanwhile, over one dozen robbers barged into an industrial unit inside Port Qasim, tied two policemen and one private security guard with ropes, snatched their weapons and three cell phones and fled, police said on Wednesday.
