BAHAWALPUR: The locomotive of the 37-UP Farid Express caught fire near Kahror Pacca railway station on the Lodhran-Pakpattan-Lahore section on Saturday.

As the fire suddenly broke out in the engine, the driver brought the train to a halt, triggering panic among passengers. The train was travelling to Lahore from Karachi. Due to the muggy weather and the prolonged halt, passengers faced inconvenience.

The locomotive was detached from the train, and a relief engine was being awaited when the last report came in.
