Munir sworn in acting CJ

ISLAMABAD, Feb 9: Justice Munir A. Shaikh was sworn in acting chief justice in a simple but impressive ceremony held at the Supreme Court building in Lahore on Saturday.

The oath was administered by Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.

Justice Munir will act as the CJ during the period Justice Shaikh Riaz Ahmed, Chief Justice of Pakistan, performs the functions of the president of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan who is out of the country for a visit to the United States.—APP
