BADIN, July 24: A young boy was killed by lightning in the district on Sunday night. Almost the entire district received moderate to heavy rain which started on Sunday evening and intermittently continued till 11:30 in the night which disrupted the power and water supply networks.

Electricity, which usually goes off on the first drop of rain, went off half an hour before the rain started and was restored after midnight.

Reports reaching here from Tando Bago said that a young boy, Aftab Chhalgari, of the Fazal Chhalgari village was killed by lightning. Aftab was a student of class-10.

In another report from Golarchi taluka, two buffaloes were killed when lightning struck the house of Bhooro Kolhi in Kario Ghanwar.

The Gharibabad area where sewerage system is almost non-existent or is overburdened, presented a depressing look after rain.
