LAHORE: Punjab Minister for School and Higher Education Rana Sikandar Hayat on Friday announced strict action, including dismissal from service, against teachers whose schools consistently record results 20 per cent or below. “No show-cause notices or lengthy inquiries would be required in such cases,” he said while addressing a press conference at the DGPR. He said around 2,200 schools with results of up to 20pc had been identified and their performance would be closely monitored. Teachers who continued to produce poor results for three to five years would not be allowed to remain in their posts, he added.

He said the government would also reward high performing teachers, while results would be analysed at school, tehsil and district levels through a data based monitoring system.
