ISLAMABAD: A flag march featuring newly inducted electric vehicles was held in Islamabad as the capital police moved towards environment-friendly policing after adding the vehicles to its fleet.
The march started from D-Chowk, passed through major roads of the city and concluded at D-Chowk.
The induction of modern electric vehicles will make police patrolling across the city more effective, expand the patrolling network and strengthen surveillance of important and sensitive locations as well as major roads, helping prevent crime and enhance the safety of citizens.
The new vehicles will also help improve police response time and enable field operations to be conducted in a faster and more effective manner. The initiative marks an important step towards modern, technology-driven and environment-friendly policing in Islamabad.
Under the leadership of IGP Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the capital police continue to adopt modern policing practices and take practical measures to provide effective and timely police services to citizens. As part of these efforts, a large number of modern electric vehicles have been added to the Islamabad Police fleet to further strengthen patrolling, security and field operations across the capital.
IGP Rizvi said the protection of the lives and property of citizens remained the foremost priority of Islamabad Police. Modern technology and resources were being effectively utilised to further strengthen the field force, patrolling, security and response systems, ensuring a safer environment and improved police services for citizens.
Meanwhile, IGP Rizvi visited the modern Command, Control, Communication and Coordination Centre, where he was given a detailed briefing on the advanced monitoring and command systems, integrated Safe City system, field force monitoring, emergency response mechanisms and the use of artificial intelligence-based technology.
During the visit, the IGP reviewed the modern technology and monitoring systems installed at the centre and was briefed on various operational functions. He was informed that the centre integrated information and operational activities of different police units through a centralised command and control platform, enabling effective monitoring of the overall situation in the city and facilitating timely decision-making.
The IGP said the effective use of modern technology was essential for further strengthening the policing system.
The advanced command and monitoring system would enable effective supervision of field force deployment and performance, improve coordination among different police units and ensure a faster response during emergencies.
