BAHAWALPUR: A woman was allegedly tortured to death by four of her neighbours in a dispute over a goat in Chak No 202/WB, Muslim Town in Mailsi tehsil of Vehari district on Wednesday.

According to police, Sobia Bibi and Ashraf’s goat was tied in the street, over which deceased Shamim objected. This led to a physical dispute and Sobia and Ashraf along with two other accomplices allegedly attacked Shamim and tortured her with clubs. Shamim suffered serious injuries and was shifted to a hospital where she succumbed to her wounds on Thursday.

On the complaint of deceased’s husband Tanvir, the Tibba Sultanpur police registered a murder case against four persons, who were yet to be arrested.
