GUJRANWALA, July 21: The DCO on Friday ordered a probe into the substandard construction of a road that was washed away during the first heavy rain of the season.

Union council nazim and councillors had lodged a protest against the contractor who used substandard material in the construction of the road from Garjakh to the cinema with a huge amount only three weeks back.

Presenting a memorandum to the district administration, the nazim and UC councillors concerned demanded that the contractor should be taken to task.

DCO Manzer Hayat inducted a local government assistant director as inquiry officer with the direction to submit him the report within a week.

EXHUMED: Carrying out a local court’s orders, the body of a man was exhumed here on Friday.

Reports said that Nasir Khan had moved the court alleging that his brother Arshad was killed by his rivals. The medical board exhumed the body and sent it to a Lahore laboratory for analysis.
