HYDERABAD, July 21: The Hyderabad circuit bench of the Sindh High Court on Friday summoned the returning officer of PS-75, Dadu, and the DPO of Dadu to appear before the court on July 24 on a constitutional petition filed by independent candidate Usman Jamali.

Mr Jamali said that when he filed his nomination papers for the seat which had fallen vacant after the death of Dr Manzoor Leghari three months ago it was not very liked by the ruling PML. By-elections are scheduled for August 7.

He said that the DPO of Dadu, Nadir Hussain Khoso, asked him to withdraw his papers and threatened to implicate him in false cases when he refused.

Mr Jamali who runs a hotel in Dadu said that police parties were sent several times to his hotel to arrest him during last seven days but he had left Dadu by then.
