KARACHI, July 21: At least 79 people were deprived of their cellphones, cars, or motorbikes in various localities here on Friday.

Police said 50 mobile phones were either snatched or stolen here.

Bandits took 24 people at gunpoint and snatched their cellphones, cash and belongings. Twenty six other cellpones were stolen. They said 29 vehicles were taken away by unidentified bandits.

One car was hijacked and eight others stolen. Nine motorbikes were snatched at gunpoint and eleven others stolen.

Police said they had recovered six cars and nine motorcycles from various areas during raids.
