LAHORE: A man allegedly shot dead his wife, father and mother in laws and brother-in-law and opted for suicide over a family dispute in Chung on Tuesday.

As per details, Imran of Barkat Colony went to his father-in-law Ali Khan’s house to get permission to take away his wife Samia. His father-in-law, mother-in-law Shumaila and brother-in-law Zeeshan reportedly refused to send her with Imran. Over this, the suspect got enraged and pulled out a gun and allegedly shot his in-laws and wife dead and also committed suicide.

Police reached the spot and shifted the bodies to the morgue for autopsy.

Later, the Sundar police registered the case against the attacker and his father Shoukat, and brothers Faizan, Rizwan and Usman on the complaint of the victim’s son Usman Ali.

Speaking to the media, the victims’ grandmother said that the attacker had kidnapped their daughter Samia at gunpoint some time ago and contracted marriage. She said that they had filed a case against the suspect and succeeded in getting the girl back.

She said that the attacker was trying for some time to take the girl, whom he claimed to be his wife, back but they wanted divorce. She said that the attacker was above 60 years of age while her granddaughter was 24 years of age. She demanded justice from the authorities and said that only two of her grandchildren were alive now.
