KARACHI: Two officials of the land department of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) were on Monday dismissed from services after an inquiry found them responsible for “gross misconduct” and committing irregularities in land allotments and mutations.
According to a statement issued here, Mayor Murtaza Wahab approved their dismissal and made it clear that “there will be no room for corruption, misuse of authority or illegal practices within the municipal institution during the present administration”.
“The action has been taken following complaints received from citizens and other individuals regarding alleged irregularities in land allotments, mutations and related matters,” said the KMC statement.
The mayor ordered an inquiry and following its completion, “Additional Director Hafiz Mugheera Qadri and Deputy Director Noman Ahmed have been dismissed from service”.
It said the promotion of Assistant Director Naeem-ul-Haq has been forfeited.
