MARDAN: Three sisters have accused their relatives of occupying and selling their property worth millions of rupees through forgery and asked the chief minister and other senior government officials to order a probe into the matter.

Speaking at a news conference here on Monday, Anila Farman, Mehreen Farman and Ayesha Farman said that their relatives took advantage of their father’s illness and attempted to deprive them of their legal rights.

Their father, Farman Ali, was also present at the presser. According to the women, their father owned and inherited property in Khwaja Ganj Bazaar and various other places valued at millions of rupees.

They alleged that cases of illegal transfers, alteration of documents and sales involving various portions of the property had come to light.

The women said they had serious concerns regarding 10 different assets related to the inherited property and that their legal rights were disregarded in certain matters. They demanded a comprehensive review of all records and forensic and legal examination of the transfers and other documents so that facts may come to light.

The women said that they were legal heirs to their father’s property and that depriving them of their rightful share through unlawful means was unacceptable.

They appealed to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister, provincial minister Tariq Mehmood Aryani, the Mardan commissioner, the DIG Mardan, the deputy commissioner and other relevant authorities to conduct an impartial investigation into the matter.

The women said that they would move the court to secure their legal rights.
