LAHORE: The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) sealed three prominent food businesses and imposed Rs351,000 in fines on 16 others during a special food safety operation in Lahore after inspectors uncovered serious hygiene and food safety violations.
The crackdown, carried out on the instructions of PFA Director General Raja Mansoor Ahmed, inspected 19 food outlets in Baghbanpura, China Scheme, Ashiana Road and adjoining areas.
A renowned ice cream outlet, a bakery and a meat processing unit were sealed, while five samples of frozen food products were collected from a processing unit for laboratory testing.
