ISLAMABAD: Renowned medical scientist Dr Jan Alam passed away in Moscow (Russia) due to heart attack. He was 60.
His burial will take place in Islamabad on Sunday (today).
Dr Alam was widely recognised for his contributions to the field of medical science and for his association with the international scientific community. During his distinguished career, he received numerous national and international honours.
Dr Alam was particularly remembered for his efforts during the Covid-19 pandemic, when he developed what was described as a medicine for corona virus.
His death is being mourned by his friends, colleagues, members of the medical and scientific fraternity, and admirers in Pakistan and abroad. Namaz-i-Janaza of the deceased will be offered today (Sunday) at 1:30pm after Zuhr prayer at Elahi Masjid, Sector D-12/1, Islamabad. He will be laid to rest in H-11 Graveyard.
