BAJAUR: Police on Friday foiled a terror bid by defusing an explosive device in Nawagai town of Bajaur district.

A statement issued from the office of the district police officer said that the explosive device had been planted by miscreants in a field near a link road within the limits of the Nawagai police station.

A team of the Bomb Disposal Unit was dispatched to the area after the police received information from residents about the presence of a bomb there.

The team cordoned off the area before defusing the bomb, the statement added.

Bajaur District Police Officer Khan Zeb lauded the BDS team for defusing the bomb in a timely and professional manner, thereby foiling the nefarious designs of terrorists.
