KARACHI: Bharati troop concentrations on the border of Sind have been intensified, authoritative sources in Karachi disclosed on Monday evening [Aug 6].
Meanwhile the latest batch of Muslim refugees entering Pakistan via Khokropar said that they were continuously harassed by the massed Bharati troops. The looting of Muslims trekking their way to Pakistan through vast deserts they said, had been going on for a long time, “but now because of the Indian troop concentrations it had become a matter of routine and had increased manifold.”
Refugees from the latest incoming batch alleged that they were caned and deprived of all their belongings and women accompanying them were molested.
“On our way to Pakistan,” they stated, “we were not given any drinking water but were severely interrogated, looted and molested by Indian Army and Police.” … — News agencies
[As reported by news agencies from Khulna,] normal life prevails here despite the recent stationing of Bharati troops with latest type of weapons on the East Pakistan border. A large number of Hindu women and children are constantly pouring in from Calcutta. According to them, Calcutta is in grip of war hysteria.
