Lahore Hawks, Army record wins at national rugby

LAHORE: Lahore Hawks and Army won their respective matches of the 12th Service Tyres PRU 15-a-side National Rugby Championship here at the Pakistan Rugby Academy, Lahore Cantt on Tuesday.

In the day’s opening match, Lahore Hawks outclassed Police 69-0. Hawks led 22-0 at halftime before significantly extending their advantage in the second half. Umar starred with five tries, while Arsalan and Waqas scored two each. Ahmad, Salman, and Hassan also crossed the line with one try each.

In the second fixture, Army comfortably defeated Desert Camels 48-5 after taking a comfortable 26-0 lead at halftime.

For Army, Mudassar scored three tries while Sadaqat, Wahab, and Rehman added one each.

Other than Lahore Hawks and Army, the tournament features Islamabad Jinns, Police, Wapda and Desert Camels Fort Abbas.
