PESHAWAR: Following the directives of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, provincial minister for minerals Arif Ahmadzai on Sunday visited Shangla district to meet the families of those who lost their lives in the Quetta mine tragedy. He offered condolences, expressed solidarity with the bereaved families, and offered prayers for the deceased.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Ahmadzai said he had visited Shangla on the chief minister’s special instructions to convey the provincial government’s support to the affected families during this difficult time. He stated that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government remains in close contact with the Balochistan government to ensure a transparent and impartial investigation into the incident and to bring those responsible to justice.
The provincial minister announced a financial assistance package of Rs1 million for the family of each victim who died in the mine accident.
