PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development and Management Company (KPEZDMC) in collaboration with the Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organisation (Pedo) has constituted a focused working group to identify practical and sustainable solutions for ensuring reliable electricity supply to industries operating across the province’s economic zones.

A statement issued here said that the working group held its inaugural meeting on July 22.

The working group brings together minister for energy and power, Mr. Syed Fakhar Jehan, adviser to the chief minister on industries and commerce, Humayun Khan, elected representatives from national and provincial assemblies, representatives of industrial consumers, senior officials from Pedo, and the Chief executive officer of KPEZDMC, providing a collaborative platform to address power-related issues affecting industrial development.

During the meeting, participants discussed the electricity challenges being faced by industries in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and agreed to pursue coordinated measures aimed at improving power availability, enhancing institutional coordination and facilitating timely resolution of issues raised by industrial consumers.

The working group will also serve as a forum for regular engagement between government institutions and the industrial community to support informed decision-making and practical implementation of solutions.

Speaking on the importance of the initiative, Adviser to the chief minister on industries and commerce emphasised that reliable electricity is fundamental to industrial productivity, investor confidence and sustainable economic growth.

He reaffirmed the provincial government’s commitment to working closely with all relevant stakeholders to create an enabling environment for businesses and industries across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
