LAHORE, July 17: Different Shia organisations on Monday staged a protest demonstration in front of the Lahore Press Club to condemn the murder of Allama Hassan Turabi.

The protesters were holding placards and banners bearing inscriptions that the Imamia Organisation Pakistan and other Shia organisations would continue the mission of Allama Hassan Turabi and fight against forces inimical to Islam.

The protesters also demanded that the government should arrest the killers of Allama Turabi and give them exemplary punishment.

They termed Allama Turabi’s murder a national tragedy. They said the incident had been planned to shift masses’ focus from activities being carried out in Palestine and Lebanon.
