A war already lost

Published Updated

THE fact that people across Africa, Asia, Europe and even within the United States have consistently demonstrated in favour of Palestine and against American policies vis-a-vis Iran is indication that the US is the ultimate loser for supporting Israel rather blindly. The irony is that despite massive military assistance, Israel could not save itself against Iranian missiles and drones.

Images circulated on X showed missiles reaching the Kirya military-intelligence complex in Tel Aviv during the opening phase of retaliatory Operation True Promise III. The site is one of the most fortified locations in the occupied territory and is protected by Israeli and US air defence systems. The damage visible in the photos showed that the complex could not intercept the initial barrage of rockets.

The so-called Iron Dome failed to stop even Hamas rockets in multiple engage-ments. Reports indicate the system’s effectiveness has been degraded by as much as 80 per cent, leaving settler cities exposed to rockets both from Iran and Hamas. The Gulf states looking at the US-Israeli nexus to be their protector should think twice before again falling in the trap.
