SHANGLA: A local court here has sentenced a woman to life imprisonment for murdering her daughter in an ‘honour killing’ case.
The police said the deceased, Samira Bibi, daughter of Taza Gul, had contracted a marriage of her own choice around eight to nine months ago.
According to police, her mother, Hasino Bibi, killed her in Goonzal area of Karshat in the jurisdiction of Olandar police station on Aug 29, 2025. A case was registered at Olandar police station.
Following the completion of the investigation, the trial court found the accused guilty under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code and was sentenced to life imprisonment.
The court also directed the convict to pay Rs500,000 in compensation to the legal heirs of the deceased. In addition, the court awarded the convict seven-year imprisonment under Section 338-C and one-year imprisonment, along with a fine of Rs1 million, under Section 15-AA.
