ISLAMABAD: Over a 100 assistant sub-inspectors (ASIs) and sub-inspectors (SIs) of the capital police were promoted to next rank, while 25 such officials were denied the promotion due to certain reasons, including bed service record.

The police said that 37 senior most eligible sub-inspectors of general cadre were promoted to the rank of officiating inspector on the basis of overall satisfactory performance, service record and seniority-cum-fitness.

In this regard Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) was held on July 16 in Central Police Office, Islamabad and after completing the due procedure recommended the promotion of the SIs. Later, in response to the recommendation Inspector General of Police Islamabad approved the promotion and issued an order on July 27.

The DPC also considered the cases of 18 SIs for the next rank. However, the DPC denied them promotion for several reasons, including non-qualification of upper school course, incomplete record, bad service record, poor performance, integrity and general reputation.

The DPC asked such officials to improve their performance.

The DPC held on July 17, also recommended the promotion of 74 ASIs of general cadre to the rank of officiating SI. On the recommendation of the DPC the IGP approved the promotion and issued the order in this regard on July 27.

The DPC also considered the case of seven ASIs, but not recommended them for promotion to the rank of SIs due to several reasons. The reason including on scholarship in China, foreign deputation, incomplete ACR, bad service record, poor performance, integrity and general reputation.

The promoted officials will remain on probation for a period of two years as per Rules 13 and 18 of Police Rules 1934 duly adopted by the capital police.
