ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has launched an evening shift for consular services at its headquarters in the capital, extending service hours from 8am to 8pm, Monday to Friday.

Announcing the initiative on his official X account, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Monday said the decision reflected the government’s commitment to making consular services more accessible, convenient and efficient.

“As part of our commitment to improving public service delivery, I am pleased to announce the launch of an Evening Shift for Consular Services at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,” Dar said, adding that citizens could now avail consular services from 8am to 8pm on all working days.

According to a public notice issued by the Ministry’s Consular Affairs Division, the evening shift at MoFA Headquarters came into effect on Monday, July 27, to facilitate applicants and further improve the delivery of consular services.

The notification stated that service tokens for the morning shift would be issued from 8am to 12pm, Monday to Thursday, and from 8am to 11am on Fridays. For the evening shift, tokens would be issued from 3pm to 5:30pm, Monday to Thursday, and from 3pm to 5pm on Fridays.
