PORT OF SPAIN: Pakistan pacer Mohammad Ali completed registered a five-wicket haul as the national side’s tour match against West Indies Select XI ended at Port of Spain’s Queen’s Park Oval on Wednesday.

Ali took 5-37 as the host team was bundled out for 279 after starting the day at 268-8 in response to Pakistan’s mammoth first-innings total of 455-4 declared.

Pakistan put up 219-4 on the board before stumps on the fourth and final day as Salman Ali Agha (52) and uncapped Awais Zafar (64) retired out after scoring half-centuries.

Pakistan, led by reappointed skipper Babar Azam, take on the West Indies for a two-match Test series, which starts in Tarouba on Saturday. The second match will be played at the Queen’s Park Oval from August 2.

Babar had scored century in the first innings of the tour match, marking his return as Pakistan Test captain. Young opener Azan Owais also smashed a ton along with Babar.
