LAHORE, July 15: All Shia organisations have announced a three-day mourning and launch of a protest drive across the country against the killing of Allama Hassan Turabi. They will also observe a black day on Friday.

Ulema-i-Imamia secretary-general Allama Azhar, office-bearers Allama Hasnain Arif, Allama Hasnain Naqvi, Imamia Students Organisation deputy secretary-general while speaking at a news conference here on Saturday, made the announcement.

They termed the killing of Allama Hassan Turabi a national tragedy as well as a failure of the government. They alleged the incident had been planned to shift masses’ focus from activities being carried out in Palestine and Lebanon.
