LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested two alleged human traffickers in separate operations in Karachi and Rahim Yar Khan as part of its ongoing crackdown on human smuggling and visa fraud.
According to an FIA spokesperson, Zafranullah Khan, a proclaimed offender wanted in FIR No 318/2025 registered by FIA’s Anti-Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC), Bahawalpur, was arrested upon his arrival at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi, on Saturday.
The suspect, a resident of Noorywali in Rahim Yar Khan district, is accused of collecting Rs2.1 million from a complainant on a promise of arranging an employment visa for the United States but failed to fulfil the commitment.
The arrest was made by the FIA’s Crime Circle Bahawalpur team.
In another operation, the FIA’s Anti-Human Trafficking Circle arrested Muhammad Sabzal from Rahim Yar Khan district in connection with FIR No 42/2026.
The agency said the suspect had allegedly received Rs825,000 from a complainant on the pretext of arranging an overseas employment visa but failed to provide the promised visa.
The operation was conducted by the FIA raiding team under the supervision of Dera Ghazi Khan FIA Deputy Director Moazzam Ali Khan.
The FIA said the arrests were made as part of the ongoing campaign against proclaimed offenders and human smugglers.
