KARACHI, July 12: At least 41 mobile phones and 21 vehicles were either snatched at gunpoint or stolen in different parts of the city on Wednesday.

Police sources said that 12 cellphones were snatched at gunpoint and 24 mobile phones were reported stolen in different localities. Five mobile phones were reported missing on Wednesday.

A total of 21 vehicles, including nine four-wheelers and 12 two-wheelers, were taken away on Wednesday.

According to police sources, bandits took away two cars at gunpoint while seven cars were stolen. Seven motorcycles were snatched at gunpoint and five were reported stolen from different parts of the city.

The Anti Car Lifting Cell conducted raids and recovered six stolen four-wheelers and seven two-wheelers on Wednesday.

The registration numbers of the recovered cars are AFW-656 (Honda City), Ferozabad Police Station; CJ-1261 (Suzuki Hi-roof), Baloch Colony Police Station; A-0444 (Suzuki FX), Yousuf Plaza Police Station; T-3452 (Suzuki Khyber) and AB-9692 (Daewoo), Shahrah-i-Noor Jahan Police Station; CJ-7806 (Suzuki Hi-roof), Super Market Police Station.

The registration numbers of motorcycles are KBC-9838, Gizri Police Station; KCS-1897, Kalri Police Station; KBP-4887, Boat Basin Police Station; KBA-9999, Baghdadi Police Station, KBR-9563, Sir Syed Police Station, RND-6678, New Karachi Police Station and D-34390 (Rickshaw), Shahrah-i-Noor Jahan Police Station.
