BAJAUR: Leaders of traders’ associations on Sunday decided to install CCTV cameras in major bazaars of Khar subdivision here to ensure a peaceful environment in business centres.
The decision was taken at a meeting of traders’ associations leaders from Khar, Inayat Kallay , Sadiqabad, Pashat and Raghagan bazaars held in Khar Bazaar.
According to a statement, presidents and general secretaries of each association attended the meeting, held a week after discussions with Khar subdivision assistant commissioner Amirullah Khan Wazir regarding the installation of cameras in the said business centres.
The statement said thatparticipants of the meeting, following consultations with senior district administration officials, unanimously decided to begin work on installing CCTV cameras in their bazaars, terming it vital for a peaceful and crime-free environment.
After detailed deliberations, the participants agreed to install CCTV cameras in all major bazaars of Khar subdivision to establish a digital surveillance system aimed at improving security and creating a crime-free environment, the statement added. It said the initiative would be launched soon to ensure a peaceful climate in trade centres. Khar Bazaar, Sadiqabad, Inayat Kalle, Pashat and Raghagan were among the commercial centres where the digital surveillance system would be installed at all important points, it added.
It may be mentioned that the assistant commissioner Amirullah Khan Wazir in line with the instructions of deputy commissioner Shahid Ali Khan had directed traders’ association leaders of the said business centres a week back to install CCTV cameras in their bazaars, a measure deemed crucial for the safety and security of traders and visitors and for maintaining a peaceful environment.
