TOBA TEK SINGH: A man has been arrested for allegedly throwing acid on his sister-in-law and her minor daughter and also injuring the woman by shooting her in the Mouza Jahangir locality of Roshanwala Police area in Faisalabad early on Saturday.

Complainant Shagufta Parveen, of Chak 253 RB Islamnagar, claimed in her FIR that her daughter Sonia Bibi married accused Ali Haider of Kot Momin, Sargodha four months ago. When Sonia came to know that her husband had another wife, she came to her parents’ house a few days ago.

She claimed that Ali Haider allegedly came to his in-laws’ house, where after a bitter argument, he threw acid on his sister-in-law Sana Usama and her daughter Kaneeza Usama (2). He also opened indiscriminate fire and a bullet also hit Sana Usama, however, his wife Sonia remained unhurt, she further claimed.

Roshanwala SHO Rai Shahid Pervez and Rescue 1122 personnel shifted injured Sana and Kaneeza to the Allied Hospital in critical condition after first aid.

CPO Tanweer Hussain Tanio informed reporters that police traced the location of accused Ali Haider and in a successful raid managed to arrest him.

KILLER ARRESTED: The police on Saturday claimed to have solved the blind murder of a seven-year-old boy of Chak 71 JB Sirli, Faisalabad and arrested his killer.

Police claimed that deceased Shakil Ahmad left his house on June 23 but did not return.

His body was recovered from an under-construction house in his neighbourhood the next day.

The Thikriwala Police arrested a youth named Ali Raza, a relative of the deceased, who during the investigation confessed that he strangled Shakil to death as he had used abusive language for his sister while playing.
