KARACHI, July 12: Seven ships carrying sugar, DAP fertiliser and steel scrap are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was relatively slow where four ships, APL Osaka, Kota Merdesa and Kota Teraju to unload and load containers and Tai Harmony to offload fertiliser were berthed.

Five ships, Thor Captain, Bunga Delima, San Nicholas, Vladimir Kokkinaki, Zara-3, MOL Kauri departed on Wednesday, while Haru, APL Osaka, Kota Teraju, Hyundai Future and MOL Kauri are due to sail out on Thursday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was modest where the total tonnage fell to 60,062 tons comprising 8,226 tons of export cargo including 1,892 tons of rice and 51,836 tons of import cargo.

The following ships are due on Thursday: Nama and Al-Jaber, with 13,000 and 14,599 tons of sugar respectively, Angara and Atlantic Express, with 32,500 tons each steel scarp, Bow Cedar, with chemicals, Darin Naree, with 27,478 tons of DAP fertiliser and Sentosa, with general cargo.
