Two killed as truck hits bike

TOBA TEK SINGH: Four people were killed in separate road accidents on Thursday.

In one incident, two motorcycle riders died after a speeding truck hit their bike near Mauza Qutab Awan on Sargodha Road at Jhang.

Rescue 1122 officials identified the deceased as Muhammad Naveed (36) and Syed Abdul Rehman (20).

In another road accident near Chak 298 GB on Shorkot Road in Toba, a Lahore bound speeding bus hit a motorcycle killing one person and seriously injuring a woman. According to Rescue 1122, the deceased was identified as 60-year-old Sardar Muhammad of Chak 299 GB who had succumbed to his injuries on the spot. His wife Razia Bibi (55) was injured and shifted to the DHQ Hospital.

Meanwhile, a speeding car ran over a motorcycle inKamalia near Sarfaraz Mir on Rajana Road, killingbiker Ahmad (40).

REUNITED: Faisalabad Railway Police help center on Thursday claimed to have reunited a mentally challenged eight-year-old child with his family five days after he went missing.

Railway Police SHO Rao Umair claimed that the child, Abubakar of Toba, had gone missing after he boarded the Karakoram Express on June 21.

Information regarding his presence within the limits of the Faisalabad Railway Station was received from the Lahore help center, he said.

He said In-charge Help Center Aneela Rahim and her team swiftly searched the station premises and successfully traced him wandering on platform no. 2. Child’s brother Qamaruz Zaman was called from Toba and the child was handed over to him, he added.

MURDER: A married woman and a young man were found murdered in the woman’s house allegedly for honour lateonWednesday night in Nankana Sahib.

DPO Rana Arsalan Zahid visited the house and had the bodiesshifted to the DHQ Hospitalunder his supervision. Meanwhile, the Nankana Saddar Police claimed to have arrested the accused in the case.

Sources claimed that accused Rashid saw his sister Shahida Bibi (35) with Tasawar Ali (20) and opened fire. As a result, they received multiple bullets and died instantly.

The deceased woman was a mother of three children.

Meanwhile, after an exchange of harsh words, a barber allegedly attacked his customer Mudassar (25) with scissors and killed him in the Kot Hasnana locality of Jhang.

The accused escaped after the incident and police were conducting raids to arrest him.

KIDNAP: A teenage girl has allegedlybeenkidnapped from Kamalia on Thursday.

Complainant Muhammad Saeed of Bhatta Husnain Kharal Wala locality informed the Kamalia City Police that his daughter A (17) was abducted near the Ghalla Mandi Mor by accused Muhammad Siddiq and his unidentified accomplices.

Police were conducting raids to arrest the accused and recover the abductee.

WILDLIFE PARK: A video of a nilgai with an eye infection in the Kamalia wildlife park prompted concern by citizens on social media who demanded treatment of the animal.

When contacted, Wildlife Park In-charge Muhammad Farooq Dogar claimed that during the windstorm two days ago, a piece of scrap hit the nilgai’s eye and she was injured.

He said that after treatment locally, veterinarian Dr Mujahid was called from the Faisalabad wildlife park, who examined the animal and prescribed medicine to treat her.

He said that social media posts claiming negligence were baseless and all 65 animals in the park were in good health despite the severe heat.
